Police turned him to Sheriff Frank Schaler, and Bauer confessed to passing bad checks in Le Mars Remson and Cherokee. He awaits arraignment in county jail. Merrill man released from hospital after rollover crash

John Nipp Merrill, 20, suffered a back injury when his car ran off Highway 75 at the airport curve near Merrill early Sunday. He was taken to Le Mars hospital and dismissed Sunday afternoon.

Auto Crash on Highway 3 Near Le Mars Injures Cars

An accident on Highway 3 three miles east of Le Mars occurred Sunday around 12 18 AM. Carleton Ince driving a 1950s Chevrolet crossed a bridge and struck a black heifer, pushing it into the oncoming 1951 De Soto driven by Walter Hilber. Damages to Hilber’s car were about 350 dollars.

Organ Recital by Elma Zenk Jewett at Sioux City First Methodist

The Western Iowa Chapter of the American Guild of Organists presented Elma Zenk Jewett in a Three manual Reuter organ recital at First Methodist Church Sioux City on April 3 1945. Stolen typewriter found same day by sheriff

Sheriff Frank Scholer was informed Friday afternoon of a theft from a Westmar College student between 12 and 1 pm. He traced the article to a Zion City pawn shop where the owner paid 20 dollars for the machine. The student may sue for recovery, but the pawn shop proprietor appears an innocent purchaser. court costs could reach about 50 dollars. The sheriff plans to press the shop to be reasonable.

Suit Filed In Wichita District Court Over Highway 75 Crash

New Army and Air Force Recruiting Station Opened in Le Mars

Donald R. Bortle of the U S Army and U S Air Force Recruiting Service visited Le Mars last Friday to announce a new Army and Air Force Recruiting Station in the Post Building in Cherlons. He will be at the Le Mars Post Office each Friday from 9 AM to 3 30 PM to interview and inform young men and women about enlistments. The Army’s new program offers schooling in an army technical school for high school graduates planning to continue education before enlisting.
