Parkins on 40th W edding Anniversary in LeMars

Mr and Mrs Carol Parkinson of LeMars observed their 40th wedding anniversary June 1 in the home of their daughter and son in law in Le Mars. Family members gathered for an informal evening with 41 guests. a noon dinner was held at Weidlor hall on the Westmar campus. Out of town attendees included relatives from Ithaca Neb Des Moines Davenport and Remsen. Skies cleared after a cool overcast morning with highs in the 70s. Biology crew checks fish at municipal pool

The state conservation commission conducted a second electro fishing check at the Municipal park swimming pool on Tuesday afternoon around 4 o clock. Swimmers were cleared for 10 minutes while crews sampled fish for growth and biological assessment. A prior check occurred about a month earlier and final results will be released after lab tests. The Happy Hour club meets Thursday at 2 p.m. hosted by Mrs. Ben Nicholson with Katherine Popken.
