The Industrial News Service urges revival of old customs showing the flag from homes and business fronts. It notes the June 10-15 Flag Week with Friday as Flag Day, hoping patriotic hunting decorations return to public speaking venues and rosters, reflecting pride in a free nation.
A license was issued Monday to Gerald Kaiser 21 of Merrill and Darlene Eichborn 18 of Sioux City. Tuesday morning a license was issued to Gary Reeves 19 and Lina Bundy 16 both of Le.
Mr and Mrs Carol Parkinson of LeMars observed their 40th wedding anniversary June 1 in the home of their daughter and son in law in Le Mars. Family members gathered for an informal evening with 41 guests. a noon dinner was held at Weidlor hall on the Westmar campus. Out of town attendees included relatives from Ithaca Neb Des Moines Davenport and Remsen. Skies cleared after a cool overcast morning with highs in the 70s. Admitted and discharged hospital notices follow.
June 12 events include Plymouth Commandry at 7 30 p m at the Masonic Temple Municipal band concert at 8 p m Foster Park Plymouth county Association for Retarded Children at 8 p m Central School and June 13 Country club Tea day followed by June 18 Country club women s luncheon.
The state conservation commission conducted a second electro fishing check at the Municipal park swimming pool on Tuesday afternoon around 4 o clock. Swimmers were cleared for 10 minutes while crews sampled fish for growth and biological assessment. A prior check occurred about a month earlier and final results will be released after lab tests. The Happy Hour club meets Thursday at 2 p.m. hosted by Mrs. Ben Nicholson with Katherine Popken.
Northwest Iowa Power Cooperative and Plymouth County Rural Electric Cooperative directors and media representatives from across the nation will attend a ground breaking ceremony on June 22 near Bismarck North Dakota for Basin Electric Power Cooperative's 200000 kilowatt Leland Olds power plant site.
