Six Hurt In Area Sunday Traffic Accidents
Six persons suffered minor injuries in three traffic accidents near Le Mars on Sunday afternoon. James Worth 24 of Remsen and Mary Elfen Ruha 16 were treated after a collision between Worths car and a 1959 International truck driven by Frank Greten 55 of Remsen. Two Arizona youths Charyl Youchans 16 and Carlos Youchans 14 were treated at Sacred Heart after a head on collision near Seney. A steer collision near Le Mars injured Mrs R C McArthur and Mrs Alvin Jennings who were treated and released.

William Albert Karley, Merrill's oldest resident and a lifelong local, died Sunday at age 93. Funeral service set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John American Lutheran Church Merrill with Rev. Kenneth Hodum officiating. Burial in Merrill Hillside Cemetery under Luken's Funeral Home direction. Born Sept 18, 1869 in Merrill, he married Emma Kress in 1898 at Sioux City. Surviving include a daughter Carrie Swisher and two sons Elmer and Walter, plus 19 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
