Ruling Expected On Officers Suit Over Pay Steps
District Judge Jack will decide later this month on a lawsuit filed by 20 Lawton police officers against the city over back pay. The dispute centers on salary step raises under the Fraternal Order of Police contract dated July 1, 1977. The FOP argues new officers advance faster than those on the force at contract start, costing the 20 officers pay. The city has 10 days to respond to the FOP brief, with five days for a reply before a final ruling.
