Ramsey Hotel Building Sold in Lawton for 145000

The Ramsey hotel building at Fourth and D in Lawton was sold to Arthur Cavanagh George Barber and Dr J Mitchell for about 145 005. The buyers plan no immediate changes and will operate the hotel and adjacent stores as investment properties. The heirs include Mrs Jessie Lee Garrett and Mrs Iola Ramsey among others.

Former City Pilot Dies Of Injuries

Joe Ozier a 33 year old former Lawsonian and experimental test pilot on the F 104 Starfighter died Saturday from injuries received in a crash at Edwards Air Force Base California He sustained third degree burns two broken legs and a broken arm but died of shock The body will be cremated with services on the coast and arrangements are being handled by his brothers Dan Ozier Fresno and L W Whit over Ozier of Frederick There will be no in town memorial services and the family requests no local tributes

Three Member Constitution Committee Named by Comanches

A Comanche general council elected five delegates to aid Interior officials in drafting a tribal constitution and bylaws. Violence did not erupt though a walkout occurred after the vote. Delegates include Robert Coffey Faxon Edgar Monetathchi Henry Lookingglass Joe Attockine and Lawrence Tomah Jr. The group also approved moving graves at a cemetery near West Cache to clear Fort Sill expansion land.

Young Lawton Senior Makes Education Pay

Dwain Strange an 18 year old Lawton high school senior works about 50 hours weekly at Hoyle's IGA Food Liner and attends classes in the morning. He logged 1 016 work hours and earned 988 96 in the first semester while maintaining a 91 6 GPA. He needs four credits to graduate and is sectioned 8 30 to 12 noon daily with a 12 30 to 9 shift on weekdays minus Mondays. He also works Saturdays and Sundays and leads his Distributive Education class.

Burns Fatal For Boy At Porter Hill Farm

The two year old Darrel Lee Prince died from third degree burns after his clothing caught fire from a burning trash pile at the family home six miles west of Porter Hill. He was taken to Lawton for treatment at 7 30 p m and died at Memorial Hospital around 9 30 p m. Survivors include parents Tony and Mrs Prince two brothers Tony Eugene 9 and Ricky two months one sister Sandra June 4 and grandfather Ben Prince Funeral arrangements will be announced by Becker Funeral home.

Young County Boy Shot Near Lawton

A one year old Comanche county boy named Jerry L. Peddy was shot at home 17 miles east of Lawton and rushed to Fort Sill Army hospital. The PIO called the wound accidental and listed the boy in satisfactory condition. He is the son of CWO Roy L. Peddy of Service Battery 765th Field Artillery Battalion.

Dallas robber Skinner identified after $200 theft

A suburban Dallas supermarket was robbed of about $200 by James Edward Skinner, 22, a convicted Oklahoma City murderer who escaped from McAlester prison last week. Police say three victims identified Skinner from photos as the gun-wielding bandit who, with an accomplice, carried a shotgun during two Kansas City motel robberies.

Justice Too Slow. Son Beats Doctor Mother in Bronx

In New York on a Saturday, Tibor Foldvary beat his mother Dr. Mary Foldvary with a four foot rawhide gaucho whip after accusing her of poisoning him and hoarding gold. The 6? year old doctor was found unconscious with a head gash in the Bronx home and later hospitalized. Police say the daughter Mary was to be questioned about poisoning when the assault occurred.
