Parade prize claimed sixty six years late
Lawrence Chamber of Commerce received a long uncashed 1946 parade prize check for a pet winner named Whitey. Donna Dick, a former resident, sent the check and a congratulatory letter. Chamber staff recalled Arden Booth and noted postwar town growth as veterans returned and local factories opened. Dick recalls parade memories and her Jayhawker allegiance to Lawrence.
