Kansas City couple pledges 225000 for KU athletics expansion
Kansas City bankers Richard and Judith King pledged 225000 toward Kansas University athletics facilities expansion. Athletic director Bob Frederick announced the gift as the project nears completion, adding locker rooms conference areas a 150 seat auditorium and an academic support center for student athletes. The Kings previously gave 25000 to the KU Endowment Association.

City tracks haulers and septage at Lawrence plant
City records show six haulers listed for septage dumping at the Lawrence waste water treatment plant with a $75 three year permit. Virg's Septic Service has an expired permit while Anderson Rentals dumped 202 loads since January 1991 and Higgins Septic Service discharged 305 loads through August 1993. Dailey Septic and Bee Reliable Pumping had low or no activity. Larry Dailey notes use of the facility is costly and sometimes forgotten.
