Farm to Child Care celebrates two-year Harvest Fest at Pendleton Market
Local families gathered at Pendleton's Country Market for the Fall Harvest Festival continuing a two-year Farm to Child Care program. About 950 children across 27 in home providers and nine centers took part with crafts hayrides and a potluck while organizers note growing participation and goal to curb obesity by exposing kids to natural produce. Emily Hampton and Ashley Graff led the event highlighting food and gardening, with a $100,000 Methodist Health Ministry grant funding the program since 2000.
