Pornography case against former school janitor is dismissed

Thom as Allen Gallagher, 62, faced a felony charge of sexually exploiting a child in Douglas County. His attorney said the material was adult pornography, not involving a minor. The charge was dismissed without prejudice after a continuance was denied.

KU grant expands access to world’s largest bee collection

The University of Kansas has won a $600,000 National Science Foundation grant to use artificial intelligence on its world‑leading bee collection. The project will image and identify more than 1,000 bee species, creating a free online resource for researchers and bee enthusiasts. A separate NSF project will study tropical bee populations in Colombia amid climate and landscape changes, with training for young scientists.
