Kansas editors began their invasion of Mt. Oread for the thirty third annual University of Kansas partial round tables sponsored by the journalism department. By mid afternoon more than 100 editors had registered at the desk in the journalism building with 300 or more expected tomorrow despite weather. The two day meeting opened with roundtables for weekly and daily editors and a general session in Fraser hall. Charles W. A Lawrence chamber dinner and a night parade program followed. Meetings resume tomorrow with roundtables for weeklies and dailies at 8:30.

Floyd Nichols about 30 years old of 846 East Ninth street sustained chest injuries and a broken right arm this afternoon after falling about 25 feet from a tree he was trimming at the home of Vannoy W Miller, 1101 East Nineteenth street. He was taken to Memorial hospital where X rays and treatment were given. Dr. W M Auchard said the injuries were serious but not dangerous and that he would recover.

Inquest Ordered in Death of Fred Simon
A coroner's inquest was ordered for 4 pm at Rumsey funeral home into the death of 46 year old farmer Fred Simon who died from a shotgun wound during a liquor raid on his Lone Star area farm. Witnesses subpoenaed include Undersheriff George Price and Chief of Police Will Johns. Chester Mowder, who was present, pleaded guilty to five liquor counts and received 180 days in jail plus fines and costs.
