Dr. Charles W. Mayo, 66, retired senior surgeon of the Mayo Clinic, is hospitalized at Georgetown University Hospital for a bleeding ulcer. He was stricken at a downtown hotel after an airplane he rode to Pittsburgh diverted to Washington because of fog. His physician described his condition as satisfactory.
