Forgery suspected in KU Extension check theft

Kansas University Extension Classes building lost 7982 dollars in 30 checks over the weekend. Deputy Don Schwartz warned the checks could be forged or sold to rings. no cash was taken and entry appeared unlocked. If cashed, authorities would pursue with federal help if altered.

Red Dog Inn to Open in Old Jayhawker Ballroom

Two KU students plan to open the remodeled Jayhawker Theater at 646 Mass St as the Red Dog Inn in early January. John Brown and Mike Murfin finance and run the venture, with a $25 000 to $35 000 remodel. The 11 000 square foot venue will host dances concerts and events with a beer service for college students and Sunday teen dances.
