Target Date For LMH's New Unit Is This Monday
Lawrence Memorial Hospital sets Monday as the target date to open a 20 bed unit for non-infectious medical and surgical patients. The unit on the north end of the second floor obstetrical service has not staffed since the new south wing addition opened in 1958. Administrators note October was the busiest month, with 3,494 adult and pediatric patient days versus 3,442 in January. Occupancy reached 107.31 percent in October for medical and surgical services, with 30,914 patient days for the first ten months of 1965, a 10 percent rise from last year. Obstetrical patient days declined 11.2 percent in the same period.
