KU Class of 1929 Gift Spurs Nose Tradition
The KU Class of 1929 started a brass nose rubbing ritual on Chancellor Lindley's bust, aging the sculpture. The 1929ers gather at the Kansas Union for a luncheon as Bernard Frazier explains the effect. The bust, normally outside Lindley Hall, will be moved to the Union for the event, with master of ceremonies John Cameron Swayze.

Costs Rising To Feed Poor
A Budget Bureau task force estimates it would cost 2.9 billion more than current spending to assure an adequate diet for the poor. The amount far exceeds President Nixon’s proposed 270 million boost for food stamps next year and a 1 billion rise the year after. Fire damages at shopping center car and brush fire near home
