Lawrence Country Club opens new 18 hole course design by Riggs Miller
Lawrence celebrates the opening of a wholly new 18 hole golf course designed by Riggs Miller of Kansas City and built by Perry Maxwell of Oklahoma City. The layout on 131 acres features 6,700 yards of play, seaside bend greens, 300 bales of peat moss, and a large putting clock. It promises championship standards with varied tees, ample traps, planned shelters, fountains, and future picnic facilities. The old nine hole course records include Waldo Crowder’s 31, and the new par totals are 72 for men and 78 for women.
