Julia Gaughan, a lawyer and former advocate at Willow Domestic Violence Center, became Bert Nash Center’s Mental Health First Aid training supervisor, starting April 16. She will train and supervise others, recruit new trainers, and advance mental health literacy through the eight hour program widely adopted since 2008.
A one day eight hour Mental Health First Aid training will be held at Maceli's Banquet Hall on Wednesday May 30 from 8 am to 5 pm. The $30 registration covers materials and online payment is available. The event aims to teach recognition and response to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders and encourage community participation.
