Flint Hills Rich Prairie Lands In Kansas Spotlight

The Flint Hills of Kansas stretch across eastern Kansas and into Oklahoma, a vast sea of bluestem grasses noted for grazing value and rolling contours. Ranchers praise the landscape as a national park potential, while conservationists warn that tallgrass prairie has largely vanished. Interstates and turnpikes thread the region near Emporia, El Dorado, and Topeka, with footprints of Knute Rockne’s crash site and Frederic Remington’s Old West ties.
