Women’s Auxiliary Volunteers 8500 Hours At Lawrence Memorial
The Women’s Auxiliary of Lawrence Memorial Hospital reported 8,500 volunteer hours in the past year at a board meeting. Members aided with x-ray escorts, mail delivery, surgical admissions, library carts, sewing, baby photos, passes, periods, patient feeding, and activity programs funded by dues and baby photo sales.

Brownie Bridging Ceremonies At Hillcrest Troops 603 650
Special ceremonies mark bridging for third grade Brownies from Hillcrest Junior Troops 603 and 650. At Centennial Park, Mary Lee Stansifer, Dottie Wagner, and Pamela Wolf received wings from Mrs. Alden Bell and recited the Promise and Laws for Lawrence Lion and Jayhawker Patrols. A Monday bridge ceremony saw Cynthia Mayer, Laura Price, Frankie Radley, and Susan Swartzel cross to join Wild Stallion and Mustang Patrols, wings given by Alpha Phi sisters Marcia Esler and Karen Landers. Three dances and refreshments followed both ceremonies. Patrols work on Gypsy and Active Citizen badges under various leaders, while the Mustang Patrol pursues the Outdoor Cook badge.
