Eight member Dixieland group The Gaslight Gang led by KU senior Paul Gray planned Asia tour under Army sponsorship and a Disneyland appearance but both fell through as sponsors barred wives on tour and the Disneyland opportunity lapsed for delaying. The band will study at KU this summer and perform locally with a possible August Denver engagement.

Dr Alvin C Porteous of the Central Baptist Seminary Kansas City will be guest speaker for the 11 am service Sunday at the First Baptist Church Located at 8th and by. Porteous professor of theology serves on the Council on Theological Education and the advisory board on theological studies of the American Baptist convention.
Firefighters were called at 3 57 p m Friday for steam from hot water in a garbage disposal mistaken for smoke in a vacant apartment at 8472 Mass St. The building owned by Fred Hyer Prairie Village had no damage. A divan from a condemned house at 814 N J St was set afire by a cigarette at 6 30 p m Friday and caused no damage.
Paul H. Knackstedt and Claude Lee Witt were arrested for fighting after an incident on Mass Street. Andy Nieto faced charges of interfering with a police officer. all posted bonds to appear in municipal court. ERNEST MARKS reported an assault and beer theft near South Park. Edward Sangster reported a break in for a stereo. A Mass Street service station was burglarized with cigarettes stolen and a desk ransacked.
