Five members of a Great Bend family were indicted by a federal grand jury in a tax fraud case described by U S Attorney James Buchele as potentially the state’s largest. They allegedly failed to report nearly $600000 hidden in suitcases in Kenneth A. Mitchell’s basement after his 1976 death, reporting only $282035 though $859785 existed.
