Heart Attack Fatal To Clifford Baldwin
Clifford W. Baldwin, 59, Lawrence attorney, died at Lawrence Memorial Hospital from a heart attack suffered at his home. A native of Hill City and KU Law School graduate, he served in World War I, helped found the Seneca American Legion post, and held posts as Seneca city attorney and Nemaha County probate judge pro tem. He and his family had lived with Mrs. Baldwin’s aunt at 1602 Mass. St. for two years. He belonged to the Knights Templar. continued on page 2.

Truman Breaks Ground for Memorial Library on Birthday
Former President Harry S Truman celebrated his 71st birthday by breaking ground on the Truman Memorial Library in Independence.
