Festival of Renewal stalls under heavy politics at KU
Omofolabo Ajayi's Festival of Renewal at Crafton Preyer Theatre struggles with tangled politics and didactic dialogue. The world premiere at KU presents ritual cleansing and feminist themes but the second act loses momentum, though set design by Delores Ringer captures the festival mood. Performances run 8 p.m. today through Sunday with tickets at Murphy Hall box office.
