KU chancellor search to be funded largely by private gifts

The University of Kansas seeks a new chancellor with private funds footing most of the bill. KU Endowment will cover salary support and expenses, with nearly 200 thousand for the search and about 250 thousand annually for ongoing costs. Endowment funds may back up to 183,500 for the search firm, R. William Funk and Associates, under a December engagement.

Kansas shoppers boost holiday sales in 2016 report

A Kansas Department of Revenue analysis shows Christmas season sales tax receipts rose 7.8 percent from the year before, with Johnson and Shawnee counties both up 10 percent. Wichita slowed to 5.8 percent, Wyandotte down 15 percent near Legends.
