City to review plan to help residents repair sidewalks
Lawrence plans a new administrative policy to aid homeowners with crumbling and uneven sidewalks. The city will continue requiring property owners to maintain adjacent sidewalks while offering financial assistance to low income residents and cost sharing for multi property sidewalks. Contractors will be bid annually and private owners with hazardous sidewalks may use the city contractor at established prices.
