New School Bills Advance In Topeka Session
Kansas legislative council grants final approval to two school bills and routes two more for consideration. A four story Goodyear Tire and Rubber warehouse fire in North Kansas City destroyed about 80 000 tires and 70 000 inner tubes with damage estimated over 2 800 000 dollars. The blaze spread to the adjoining Bellas Hess building, but was controlled. 26 employees escaped unharmed and two firemen were overcome by smoke.

Brannan Calls Plan Trial Run After Error On Benefits
Secretary Brannan told a Senate agriculture subcommittee he made a very serious tactical error by proposing a top limit on government benefit payments under the Brannan farm plan.
