Kansans Win Navy ROTC Scholarships For KU and Elsewhere
Sixty two youths from Kansas were named in the Navy Reserve Officers Training program selections. Local lad John W Brand Jr from Route 1 and 31 other Kansans were chosen for four year scholarships worth about 6000 dollars plus tuition books and uniforms. Most will attend the University of Kansas with some entering other NR.O.T.C colleges such as Yale or Northwestern.
