The Journal-Worlds second class of eight area Academic All-Stars remains high performing. Beth Dwyer, a Lawrence pharmacist and mother of two, reflects on her KU pharmacy degree and family life in Lawrence and Eudora. Elizabeth Chang, now a nurse practitioner in Orlando, recalls switching from pre med to nursing. Jacob Montgomery pursues political science at Duke after a Wake Forest start, while Timothy Pierce codes for Wal-Mart in Bentonville after dual majors at Pittsburg State and Oklahoma State. Other alumnae and alumni pursue law, astronomy, and education, with careers spanning Washington, Nigeria, and academic research.
