Soblen Captured in Israel After Fugitive Flight

Soviet spy fugitive Dr. Robert A Soblen, sentenced in the United States, was arrested in Tel Aviv as a bail jumper. He faces an Israeli charge and possible extradition efforts by the United States despite no treaty. Soblen, ill with leukemia, arrived with a Canadian passport under a late brother's name and was held pending formal charges. His brother Jack Soble, also jailed for espionage, was a key witness in the case.

Pony Show Lights Up Lawrence With Four Night Legion Event

The 1962 Lawrence American Legion Horse Show opens at 7 tonight at the 4 H Fairgrounds East Nineteenth Street with ponies, then big horses take center stage Friday through Sunday.
