Corporation Tax Rise in Douglas County Sees Valuation Increase

Douglas County Clerk Delbert Mathia announced a slight rise in the county total corporation taxable valuation, with next year’s figure set at 22,190,454 compared to 21,235,974. The increase expands the tax base and would modestly lower the mill levy if budget needs remain constant. Earlier figures from Assessor Darwin Rogers showed real estate values up about 4 million, while personal property valuation remains to be determined, potentially lowering the levy about four percent if personal property stays flat.
