Shopping Center Group Wins Zoning Approval Push
Lawrence Planning Commission recommended approval of Class D shopping center zoning for about 20 acres west of Iowa Street and south of Centennial Park, with further area rezoning possible under the new ordinance. The meeting drew 100 plus attendees, with strong support from Raney group backers and opposition from some east of Iowa Street property owners and City officials concerned about overbuilding.
