Jayhawks claim three NBA Finals MVPs among alumni
Former Kansas University players have won the Finals MVP three distinct times since 1969. Wilt Chamberlain led the Lakers over the Knicks in 1972, JoJo White powered the Celtics past the Suns in 1976, and Paul Pierce guided the Celtics to victory over the Lakers in 2008. No other school matches three winners. UCLA and North Carolina trail with two each. If you have a Sound Off question, call 832-7297.
