Dairy Day Highlights and 4-H Club Plans
Junior officers led the Cottonwood 4-H Club meeting with 24 members and five leaders present. The livestock tour is set for June 28 starting at the Jack Harris farm and ending at the W. W. Wempe farm. Demonstrations covered clipping and grooming a dairy cow and judging dairy cattle. Local volunteers served refreshments as the Weaver Home Demonstration Unit schedules a meeting next Wednesday at 1 30 p m in Mrs. Lottie Neil s home. A dairy food recipe suggestion uses herring fillets with wine sauce mixed with cultured sour cream.

Marines Begin Far East Deployment From San Diego
Gunnery Sgt Joe Garcia and Pvt 1st Class John W McArdle depart this month on the Navy transport USS General Mann for a 13 month tour with the Third Marine Division Okinawa. The battalion of about 1000 will stop in Hawaii and Japan for liberty on the way to Okinawa.
