Junction City Man Killed in Rain Crash on U S 40
A head on collision in heavy rain on U S 40 west of Junction City killed 75 year old Ross McNeece. Blaine Robinette riding with him suffered facial and shoulder injuries and was taken to Geary County hospital. Two other occupants were severely injured.

Heat Exhaustion Fatal to Student at Big Bend Park
Gordon E. Morley 31 of 1309 Ohio died last Friday in Texas from a heart attack induced by heat exhaustion during a KU botany field trip. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Wesleyan Methodist Church Belleville with Rev. Lorin Miller officiating. Morley, a KU graduate student, taught at Northwest Missouri State and Kansas high schools before resuming graduate studies in 1963. Survivors include his parents, four brothers, and one sister. several Lawrence residents attended the funeral.
