Willie Robinson offered to give away his nine month old daughter Darlene on a Detroit street corner last night. He was held for investigation as bystanders describe a failed hour long attempt to find a taker. Police returned the baby to her mother.

Meyer Elected As New Chief for K.U. Alumni Association
Herbert A. Meyer Jr. publisher of the Independence Daily Reporter was chosen Sunday as president of the Kansas University Alumni Association. Thunderstorm Causes Injuries and Outages Near Lawrence
A Saturday night thunderstorm dropped .31 inches of rain in Lawrence and caused power outages across a large area. A 19 year old man, Karl Theodore Abegg, was seriously injured when his car skidded on wet pavement three miles west of the city, pinning him under the vehicle. Two passengers were treated and released. The storm also knocked out power to farm homes northeast of town and caused a reported line burn in the 2200 block on New Hampshire.
