Haskell Buys New Athletic Grounds For Campus
The Haskell Institute athletic association closed arrangements for the purchase of twelve acres north of the campus, formerly Mrs. Learnard’s property, to be developed into four football and baseball fields with a modified stadium. The stadium will be built by Indian students, with work starting soon, and a Smile track with a 220 yard straightaway planned. The new grounds provide three practice fields and aim to boost contests and future major games, replacing the 1900-era field in use.
