Balloon disaster ends two air crew flights
Dr. C. Le Roy Meisinger of the United States weather bureau and Lieut James T. Neely of Philadelphia were killed when their free balloon, launched from Scott Field, exploded near Bement Illinois during a test flight to study upper-air conditions around storm centers. Meisinger observed while Neely piloted, with the balloon igniting and burning after six to seven hours aloft. The wreckage was found 150 miles northeast of Scott Field.

Hazel Anderson Injured In Auto Crash at Rhode Island Street
Miss Hazel Anderson, known as Andy at Wiedemannis, suffered a severely wrenched back after a Ford roadster she rode in collided with a telephone pole Sunday morning at the Ninth and Rhode Island street intersection. The driver, John Beatty, swerved to avoid another car and the others in the vehicle escaped serious injury. Anderson will be confined about two weeks at Atemannia house.

Parade of Shrine Nobles Draws 25 000 In Five Mile Pageant

English excavators uncover two large buildings at Folkestone with about seven hearths each, suggesting cook houses and dining halls for a Roman camp. Mrs. E E Gladfelter wife of a funeral director of Ottawa Illinois was seriously injured when the Keo sedan carrying her crashed down an embankment and a Lawrence Kansas City bus rammed a concrete culvert near Half Way House. About ten or fifteen bus passengers suffered cuts or bruises as the bus and sedan collided after another car tried to force between them. Passersby took the injured to Kansas City. The Reo sedan was wrecked beyond repair. Baseball results follow with New York beating a 14 to 9 score and multiple NL games reported.
