Barnett Names Wife Hansen as Running Mate in Kansas Governor Race
Kansas Republican Jim Barnett introduces Rosemary Hansen as his running mate, a fast rising pairing in the governor race. Hansen, a 63 year old former foreign service officer with degrees from Kansas Minnesota and Harvard, notes the ticket emphasizes issues over connections. The two married eight months ago and say their campaign focuses on ag and livestock, economic development, education, health care, tourism, and attracting young professionals. Barnett has a track as a former state senator and prior campaigns, while analysts call the marriage ticket a first for Kansas.
