Douglas County jurors spent ten hours deliberating in the murder trial of Carrady Buchhorn 44 of Eudora who cared for nine month old Oliver Ortiz at Sunshine Kids Daycare Home. The coroner ruled the death a homicide from blunt force trauma.

Robbery suspect charged with sex crimes against teen
Kaspar A Engelberg a 20 year old Douglas County man faces three counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child and one count of indecent liberties with a child. The alleged victim is 15 and the offenses began in December. Bond set at 50000. next hearing August 23. He remains in custody on armed robbery charges and a co defendant, also 15, faces related charges.
