Violent rampage and standoff tied to Hussein case
Abdul Jalil K. Hussein, 34, of Lawrence, is accused in an affidavit of terrorizing his mother with an ax, firing at targets including a TV, threatening neighbors in body armor, and aiming at a Lawrence police officer during a standoff. Det. Brown calls him an extremely violent threat. Hussein faces 15 counts across three cases, with a $700,000 bond and court-ordered psych evaluation. He had prior incidents including a 2017 air gun firing and hours long standoff leading to committal. Next status conference Monday.
