The Lawrence Affordable Housing Advisory Board extended a $495 000 grant through Oct 31 after County Commission backed $400 000 for 2019, ensuring the grant remains for the home.
KU reports 12000 documented rides and 5000 miles ridden since April as its VeoRide bike share expands. Calorie burn totals 285600 with 2900 members enrolled. Transit analyst Margretta de Vries says reaction is overwhelmingly positive while noting no student fee required. VeoRide funds service via memberships and passes, with 180 more bikes planned for fall after a pilot of 180 bikes launched in April.
