Teens Paint Graffiti-Beat Back Mural At Lawrence Gallery
Sixteen year old Madeline Chestnut and twelve other teenagers spent three days painting a large mural on the back of the Lawrence Art Guilds 1109 Gallery to cover graffiti. The project grew from a Summer of Service 2012 effort sparked by United Way Roger Hill Volunteer Center. Amanda Monaghan, president of the Lawrence Art Guild, said the mural aims to deter tagging and involve youth in community impact.
