Kansas board of health vital statistics gets six month funding
Topeka July 7 The vital statistics division of the Kansas board of health won a six month lifeline as the state war emergency fund board approved continuing allocations from a 500000 fund. The division will receive 75 percent of birth and death certificate fees. For the year ending June 30 the division drew about 70450 from the fund and repaid 8000, the original emergency grant that saved the department after the 1943 legislature failed to appropriate money. Chancellor Deane W. Malott of Kansas University requested 42500 for a nurses home at university hospitals, to be matched with Public Health Service funds to build a 108000 facility for 64 more nurses. no action was taken.
