Ford Holds Lead in Low-Priced Eight Cylinder Field
Reports from months past suggested Ford might face competition in the low-price V-8 segment. The company chose to stay with an eight in the economy bracket, citing cost advantages from integrated V-block crankcase casting and efficient Rouge plant production. Ford’s strict quality standards and advanced methods keep expenses down while delivering high power for a small-car package. It may be long before rivals challenge Ford in this market.
