In three forays last night the so called gas man attacked nearly a score of homes in the Fincastle region with gas, drawing closer to capture than before. Victims in Carvin's Cove and nearby reported the assailant, one home being that of Raymond Etter where a chase ensued. Other attacked houses belonged to Grover C Riley and Ed Reedy. The incidents occurred between 8 and 9 p.m., following a Sunday visit to Howard Crawford in Colon. Local sleuths note that attacks occur at night, at homes without telephones, a woman's shoe imprint appeared twice, physicians suspected chlorine causing nausea, and renters are urged to read the classified ad for rentals.
