Veterans warned on buying farms with inflated values
W Duggan governor of the Farm Credit Administration cautioned discharged veterans against using savings to buy farms without verifying land value. He cited a case where a veteran paid 4000 down on a 12000 farm later valued at about 8000. County advisory committees were urged as the safest guide. He noted 2,000,000 farm foreclosures in 25 years stemmed from inflated postwar purchases.
