Large Holiday Mail Cancellations Reported at Lawrence Post Office
More than 300000 pieces of mail were canceled in the first three days of the week at the Lawrence Post Office. Pasted by Postmaster James Parsons, the three day total tops all prior records and December totals exceed 900000 with Christmas rush expected to continue. The office will stay open until Saturday to speed mail. Parsons praises workers and asks residents with small home boxes to use a basket near the mailbox to keep cards from bending.
