Ringling trainer faces elephant abuse trial in San Jose

Ringling Bros. trainer Mark Oliver Gebel, son of Gunther Gebel-Williams, faces up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine for allegedly puncturing an elephant’s hide with a bull hook. Humane Society witnesses reported a bloody spot after a show, amid longtime animal cruelty allegations against the circus.

Transsexual wife convicted in castration linked death case

Tammy Felbaum, 43, found her husband James Felbaum, 40, castrated himself after a drug induced sleep in their trailer home. Prosecutors argued she performed the crude operation last February. coroner ruled death by choking on vomit, not direct result of castration. Sentencing set for Feb 27.
