Jacred A. Long, 18, of Lawrence, convicted of second degree murder in his grandmother's death, asks to withdraw his plea. His attorney Forrest Lowry told Douglas County District Court the defense is not ready for sentencing and requested another hearing.
Andrew L. Tribble, 40, appeared in Douglas County District Court and pleaded not guilty to 12 felony counts charging rape and sex offenses against a girl over more than six years. A jury trial was set for April 23. Tribble is jailed on 300000 bond.
