City officials approve usual bills as council studies a sewer project and paving needs. The meeting notes a proposed bond issue for public works and references a March 20, 1907, deadline as decisions move forward with input from engineers and fire department representatives.

In Georgetown Kentucky the Commonwealth called Robert Noakes, co defendant with Taylor Mowers and Finley, to testify about a November 1908 expedition to Frankfort to threaten election officials. He recounted orders to ensure justice or hang the election commissioners and a plan to form a military company to back the contest against Goebel, who was described as dead.
The Oklahoma state legislature sent a formal telegram to the Sixtieth Congress expressing progress, prosperity, loyalty to the Union, and devotion to the common good. The speaker read the message aloud in the House, prompting applause.

The mother remains unconscious with dire prognosis, and doctors fear she may not recover. The horses were calmed after tumbling the buggy into a pole.
Tommy Burns of America defeated Gunner Moir of England in the tenth round at the National Sporting Club. Burns dominated from early on and finished with a knockout, securing the world heavyweight crown amid high excitement and crowd acclaim. Moir’s chances were limited by weight and reach, while Burns showed superior generalship and power.
Topeka judges postponed key circuit and district court cases from the November term. The Perkins insurance suit and the incubator baby case will go forward in January in Kansas City. A motion to strike parts of J B Reece et al v Union Pacific was sustained and the plaintiff must amend within twenty days. Clarence Reese, son of the plaintiff, died on duty when a wreck occurred.

Spokane dispatch reports the steamer Defender struck a rock crossing Lake Coeur d Alene last night and reached Mies Bay this morning with all aboard safe. Earlier estimates said fifteen might have drowned.
Telegraphs report that the French military balloon La Patrie crossed the Clyde Bank area in Scotland this afternoon moving northwestward. The device sailed over Glasgow and the River Clyde as it continued its course.
