Wichita rejects commission plan in special election
In Wichita Kansas on December 4 a special election resulted in 1,220 votes for and 260 against the commission plan, with 4,492 ballots cast from a 12,854 registered. Women voted far less than men and nearly all women opposed the plan. Not a single precinct favored it and opposition came from daily newspapers and the ministerial association. The independent league teachers had backed the present administration and campaigned against the proposal.
